近年、ヴィデオ・インスタレーションの展示のない、現代美術展は少ない。
それは、フィルムの時代より、予算、機材、制作時間等がその容易性にとんできたからであろう、映像とコンテンポラリーアートの接点の方法論の多様化もありだろう。
コンセプトを読み解くという、視点は、持ちたい、、が、作品との対峙の難しさもあるであろう。
これは、そのヴィデオのコンテンツの構成にもよるが、最初から見なければ、意味がわからないようなドラマ性はいらないだろう、、例えば、アンディ・ウォーホルの”エンパイア”のような、やたら長尺であれば、その存在の意味もあるだろう。短編でもそれは可能だ。
いずれにしても、ヴィデオ・インスタレーションという、メディアの形式の今後のより展開するためのシフトは、受容形式の変容であろう。
